Medifast (https://www.medifast1.com/) in Owings Mills is looking for a
part-time intern this spring semester. The intern would work 10-15 hours/ week
this semester and throughout the summer months. This is a paid position that pays $12 per hour.

Responsibilities:
•Weighing up & prepare PD lab batches for new development, and trouble-shooting production batch challenges.
•Obtain samples from warehouse for PD lab.
•Prepare samples for home use testing of new products requiring cooking (bakery mixes, etc.).
•Help Conduct Sensory Panels for internal evaluation
•Capture and provide analysis of data results (Excel).
•Maintain ingredient/finished product documentation database including calling vendors, electronic and hard copy filing, inputting data into spreadsheets as required.
•Assist with Production Trials, scale-ups, process improvement tests.
•Assist in preparing samples for evaluating alternate supplier ingredients and finished products.
•General Lab: Assist in Product Development lab organization and clean-up.

•Strong attention to detail and follow-up
•Strong interest in food Research & Development
•Ability to work effectively independently, and as a member of a team.
•Problem solving and excellent communication skills
•Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple task
•Basic knowledge of chemistry, biology, physics, statistics with additional course-work in nutrition or food science a plus.
