Happy Pride from the Office of Equity and Inclusion! Pride is celebrated each June in honor of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, a movement led by black and brown trans women and femmes.
The Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) affirms and supports LGBTQIA+ communities. UMBC’s goal of inclusive excellence guides our efforts to create a supportive and inclusive environment for transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and LGBTQ+ community members. While we recognize that achieving inclusion is an ongoing process, we are dedicated to working to provide an environment that is as inclusive and safe as possible for all people, regardless of their sexuality, gender identity or expression.
In honor of Pride month, OEI has launched a new resource page for LGBTQIA+ communities and allies which can be viewed here. Additionally, you can learn more about adding pronouns to your myUMBC profile and changing your social identifiers at UMBC here.
At UMBC, we believe that no one deserves to be harmed or harassed on the basis of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. If you are experiencing discrimination or harassment because you identify as LGBTQIA+ you can report it using OEI’s online reporting/confidential referral form.
