UMBC Spring Mental Health Summit
Friday, February 5, 2016 · 3 - 6 PM
UMBC's Counseling Center, University Health Services and Student Life are partnering together to host Part 2 of our Mental Health Summit that we held for the first time back in September. It is not required that you have attended the first one in order to attend this one. The Mental Health Summit will take place on Friday, February 5th from 3-6pm in The Apartment Community Center Multipurpose Room. This is a FREE event for all and light refreshments will be provided.
The Summit serves as a space to bring together multiple student groups and campus departments who are all working towards the same broad goal: to increase awareness of mental health, and care and support for our community. A preliminary agenda is below:
1) Preview of Cognito Mental Health online programs. Please bring your laptops or tablets for an interactive free training that will be premiered at the summit.
2) Consultation Corner: Time will be dedicated to allowing groups to get the help and advice they need to plan programs/campaigns for their organizations.
3) Time will also be set aside for each group to present their organization's goals and initiatives and also learn about opportunities for collaboration.
To attend, please register no later than Monday, Feb. 1st using the form/link below:
For questions or comments, please contact myself, or any of the organizers. Additional information is on the registration form. We highly encourage all groups to have at least two representatives at the summit.
Please feel free to forward this email to other students who may have a strong interest in mental health initiatives on campus.
Hope to see many of you there!
