Gilman Drop-In Advising Workshop
A special session for the application deadline week!
Sunday, March 2, 2025 · 1 - 4 PM
Are you interested in studying abroad? Are you a Federal Pell Grant recipient? Or are you the child of an active duty service member in the US military and receiving any kind of federal financial aid? If you answered yes to two or more of those questions, you should apply for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship or the Gilman-McCain Scholarship!
The Gilman Scholarship enables Pell Grant recipients to study or intern abroad, while providing them with skills critical to U.S. national security and economic prosperity. Awards of up to $8000 are available to eligible students, so start your application today at <gilmanscholarship.org>. Other benefits include a year of non-competitive hiring status for federal jobs after you graduate - a great way to start your career after UMBC with a leg up in employment possibilities!
The staff of UMBC's Education Abroad Office will host several drop-in advising sessions in late February and early March to offer guidance for a competitive application, answer any questions, and assist students with completing their application.
Applications for the Summer 2025, Fall 2025, academic year 2025-26 programs, Winter 2026 and Spring 2026 are due March 6, 2025.
